About Us
Who We Are & How To Get Involved
We are a coalition made up of working Rhode Islanders and their families who have suffered both directly and indirectly from work place accidents and illnesses. We have come together with community groups, workers centers, labor unions, environmentalist organizations and health & safety advocates in order to inform our communities, our employers and our government of the dire impacts of unsafe work environments; and to do whatever we can to prevent future risk and tragedy from befalling our state’s workforce.
We want to hear the stories of Rhode Islanders who have been effected by unsafe work conditions. Hit the contact button below or scroll to the bottom of the page to submit a testimonial outlining your experience.

What Is Workers Memorial Day?
Workers' Memorial Day takes place annually on April 28, an international day of remembrance and action for workers killed, disabled, injured or made unwell by their work.
In 1970, the AFL-CIO declared April 28 “Workers' Memorial Day”. On that day one year later, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was formed in the United States. In the late 1980's events and commemorations started being held annually around the globe.
Workers' Memorial Day is recognized as a national day in many countries including: Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Gibraltar, Ireland, Luxembourg, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Taiwan, United States and the United Kingdom. Trade unions in other countries including Benin, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Malta, Nepal, New Zealand, Romania and Singapore are pursuing government recognition.

We want to hear from you!
Tell us your account of how workplace accidents and illness have effected your life.
In Memoriam: Exposing Unsafe Workplaces
Today, on Workers Memorial Day, we pause to honor those who have lost their lives or suffered injuries due to workplace hazards. We must acknowledge that the fight for safe working conditions is not just a matter of policy—it's a battle against entrenched interests, indifference, and exploitation. In these photographs, we confront the stark realities of negligence, deregulation, and corporate greed that jeopardize the lives of workers worldwide. Each image serves as a rallying cry for justice, demanding accountability from those who prioritize profit over people. Join us as we shine a spotlight on the politics behind workplace peril and unite in solidarity to advocate for change.
